Comme son titre l'indique, l'album est une compilation de reprises de groupes punk historiques (de The Clash à Black Flag, en passant par Joy Division et Dead Kennedys) par des groupes français. Le CD sera accompagné d'un fanzine entièrement consacré au festival punk de Mont de Marsan de 1977, une réédition d'un fanzine de l'époque "L'Echo Des Sauvages".
